1. Who is responsible for your information?

Elkin Guerrero, operating as Spanish with Elkin from Colombia, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

2. Information we collect

When you join the Spanish Speaking Club priority list or contact Spanish with Elkin, we may collect:

• Your name and email address.
• Your self-reported Spanish level.
• Your country, time zone, and schedule availability.
• Your learning objectives, interests, and preferred conversation topics.
• Information you voluntarily include in messages or form responses.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the interest form.

3. How we use your information

We use this information to:

• Review whether the B1 Spanish Speaking Club is suitable for you.
• Identify learners with compatible levels, time zones, and schedules.
• Contact you about potential groups, schedules, prices, enrollment, and related administrative matters.
• Answer your questions and manage your requests.
• Improve the organization and design of the Spanish Speaking Club.
• Send information about other Spanish programs only when you have separately agreed to receive it.

We will not sell or rent your personal information.

4. Authorization and choice

By actively accepting the data-use statement in the interest form, you authorize Spanish with Elkin to process your information for the priority-list and group-formation purposes described above. Consent for unrelated promotional messages is requested separately and is optional.

You may withdraw your authorization or object to promotional messages at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing authorization does not affect processing that took place before the withdrawal.

5. Firebase and Cloud Firestore

The Speaking Club interest form uses Firebase and Cloud Firestore, services provided by Google, to receive and store applications. Google may process information on servers located outside Colombia or your country of residence under its own privacy and security terms.

6. How long we keep your information

If you do not join a group, priority-list information will be retained for up to 12 months after submission and then deleted or anonymized, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or continued retention is required by law.

If you become a student, information related to enrollment, payments, and the educational relationship may be retained for the period reasonably necessary to provide the service and meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations.

7. Sharing and disclosure

Information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate the form, communications, scheduling, or educational service. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights, or with your specific authorization. Priority-list responses are not shared with other applicants.

8. Security

We use reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect personal information and limit access to people and services that need it. No method of online transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask to:

• Know whether we hold personal information about you and access that information.
• Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Request deletion when the information is no longer necessary or is being processed improperly.
• Withdraw authorization or object to certain uses, including direct marketing.
• Ask how your information has been used.

10. Children’s information

The priority list is intended for adults. Please do not submit information about a child without first contacting Spanish with Elkin and obtaining any authorization required from a parent or legal guardian.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the service or legal requirements. The current version and its effective date will remain available on this page.
